A tremendous weekend for the Dartmouth seniors, who were in on six of
seven goals against Yale and all three against the Tigers. Turcotte is
certainly a candidate for ECAC player of the week.

There was some confusion as to Dartmouth's shot at the playoffs. The
local paper had the Big Green needing a win, plus four favorable
outcomes in other games. Roger Demment told Don Cahoon, however, that
Dartmouth was out of it after RPI tied Cornell on Friday. So I'm
assuming the players were playing for pride and nothing more.

Princeton, on the other hand, would have wrapped up sixth with a victory
(since Colgate defeated RPI in a game that started two hours earlier). Not
exactly a clutch performance.

Interesting how Princeton always seems to play to its opponent - mirroring
Vermont and Dartmouth's style on consecutive nights. This was a wide open
game - really should have been higher scoring if not for some unbelievable
work by Konte and a solid Baker effort coupled with some poor Tiger finishing.
Konte made a succession of saves, including two stellar right pad stops on
Sturges and an unidentified linemate, that sparked the Tigers comeback
attempt. Turcotte's winning goal was a snapshot from a Delmonte drop pass
that deflected off of Flahr's shinpad to go up over Konte's glove. For
the millioneth time in the game, the Princeton defense backed in on its
goalie instead of stepping up to cut off Dartmouth forwards at the blueline.

So instead of taking Tuesday off and traveling to Colgate or Vermont for
the quarters, Princeton hosts Union on Tuesay and would go to Brown
next weekend with a win. Union, of course, took three of four points from
Princeton during the season and has traditionally given the Tigers all
kinds of problems.
