I believe number 10 (Kevin Harper, younger brother of former Spartan winger
Kelly Harper) is being red-shirted and that is why he didn't play against U of
M. It wasn't too much of a surprise that Jon Gaskins didn't play at the Jo.
If you payed attention at the Western game, he took a spill into the boards,
got up slowly and discretly limped to the bench. Shortly after there was an
announcement for someone to report to the trainers room and Gaskins never
returned. I agree, however, that a 6th defenseman would not have made a
difference against U of M. It seems that with the wolverines style, they would
have problems with a team that plays a neutral zone trap but I haven't had the
opportunity to see to many games that weren't at MSU so I can't say if anyone
in the CCHA or anywhere else plays that style.
