From Bright Hockey Center Friday night:

          1 2 3
Harvard 1 0 2 3
Princeton 1 1 3 5

I gotta hand it to Princeton -- they capitalized on their
opportunities while the Crimson kept squandering theirs. Harvard had the
upper hand early in the first period getting chance after chance.
However, they either couldn't finish the play or Princeton netminder
James Konte (who was VERY solid) made the save. The Tigers, after tying
the score 1-1, then got into it and made Harvard pay, scoring a total of
5 unanswered goals (including 2 short-handed tallies).
When it was 5-1, people started leaving the premises, only to
miss a 2 goal Harvard "comeback" in the last two minutes of the game.
With close to two minutes left, Harvard went on a power play and pulled
goaltender Tripp Tracy for the 6-on-4 advantage. Kirk Nielsen scored
quickly on the power play only to recieve a Tiger crosscheck for his
troubles. Consequently, with a little over a minute remaining, Harvard
again went on the power play and again pulled Tracy. And, what do you know,
the Crimson made it 5-3 on a tough angle shot by Brad Konik! Too bad
there was only about 40 seconds left and Princeton wasn't going to let
lightning strike again. As a Crimson fan, though, I appreciated the
effort.
All in all, though, Princeton stood up very well against the home team
and hopefully taught them a lesson: you don't have to outshoot your
opponent, you just have to outscore them.
