Yeah, and couldn't you just see ESPN2 picking up "Hockey Shoot-outs of the
Week" to fill its early Saturday morning schedule? Of course there would be
no mention of the actual outcome of the games which produced the shoot-outs.

Eventually it would degrade into a "shoot-out championship", like the slam dunk
competitition, with players electing to leave their teams to join the National
Hockey Shoot-out League" (NHSL) criss-crossing the country to compete in local
events and accumulate points toward the end of the year Fab Five Shoot-out.
The individual national teams would eagerly court all the players in the NHSL
(National Hockey Shoot-out League) in hopes of landing one of the big stars
for the Olympics (since each team will acknowledge their championship hopes
rest on including one of the top snipers on their roster.)

MTV will also host a rock n'jock tournament with Seattle grunge band members,
Rush and a few other Canadian rock bands competing side by side with the NHSL
stars. The rock stars will be awarded two shots as a handicap.

Oh, and the NCAA Hockey Final Four will finally land a major cable network with
the fledgling RED Network, the first start-up from Russia, which elects to add
the championships to its roster in the hope of beaming the exploits of its
collegiate hockey players directly back to Mother Russia.

OK, enough already, even for the off-season.
