If you live in New England or will be there this weekend, here is the
cable schedule for NESN and New England Sportschannel. Between these
two, you'll be able to see all four conference championship games.
Get those VCRs warmed up. I'm sure some of the ECAC/HE games will
be picked up by some cable companies around the country, just as NESN
and SC are picking up the Western games. And lucky folks with access
to dishes will need this to know when they can catch the ECAC/HE games.
ALL times listed are EST. Note that the CCHA games are NOT being
shown live in New England.
Friday 3/8 5:00 pm NESN Hockey East Semifinal #1 LIVE: Prov-BU
8:00 pm NESN Hockey East Semifinal #2 LIVE: Northeastern-Maine
11:00 pm SC CCHA Semifinal #1 TAPE: W. Mich-LSSU
Saturday 3/9 1:00 am NESN Hockey East Semifinal #1 TAPE: Prov-BU
4:00 am NESN Hockey East Semifinal #2 TAPE: Northeastern-Maine
7:00 am SC CCHA Semifinal #2 TAPE: Ferris State-Michigan
5:00 pm NESN ECAC Semifinal #1 LIVE: St Lawrence-Cornell
8:00 pm NESN ECAC Semifinal #2 LIVE: Harvard-Clarkson
11:00 pm SC CCHA Championship TAPE: FSU/Mich-WMU/LSSU
Sunday 3/10 5:00 pm NESN Hockey East Championship LIVE: PC/BU-NU/Maine
8:00 pm NESN ECAC Championship LIVE: SLU/Corn-Harv/Clarkson
Monday 3/11 9:00 am NESN Hockey East Championship TAPE: PC/BU-NU/Maine
12:00 pm NESN ECAC Championship TAPE: SLU/Corn-Harv/Clarkson
8:00 pm NESN WCHA Championship LIVE: Wis/Minn-NoDak/NMU
Tuesday 3/12 9:00 am NESN WCHA Championship TAPE: Wis/Minn-NoDak/NMU
Program lengths for taped events are listed as three hours, while live
ones can be anything. If a game goes into overtime, they will usually
cut out the between-periods part if necessary to keep the show under
three hours.
Also, don't expect the 8:00 pm games to start on time any of the three
nights at the Garden because of warmups, etc. If you're taping from
NESN live any of the three nights, I suggest buying some 8-hour tapes.
You'll also be sorry if the late game goes into overtime and you miss
it. Or you could tape Friday's and Sunday's games from the replay
instead (Saturday's ECAC games will NOT be shown on replay, at least
not before Tuesday).
The Bruins are hosting Toronto at 1:30 Saturday afternoon, but the first
ECAC semifinal is scheduled to start at 5:00. That may end up being
delayed a bit.
