Isn't that what the school's compliance officer is for? It depends on the
coaches telling the compliance officer these things. Apparently Coach Walsh
didn't tell the AD or the compliance officer about the potential problems.

Yes. Technically, if a power play only runs for 1 second, it counts as an
attempt. Personally, I think that is why actual power play time should be what
is used to calculate how good a team's power play is. Instead of looking at
goals/attempts you should look at PPMinutes/Goal. Unfortunately, no one has
done this enough to be able to tell what is good and what means your power
play stinks. What I mean is: is 9 min/goal a good average for a power play? Is
it mediocre? Does it mean your power play needs work? I do actually keep the
stats for a Jr. A team up here, so I should calculate our PPMin/PPG and see
what it is. Of course, without a basis of comparison, it is hard to tell.

Small correction. Short-handed goals count too. Only power-play goals don't
count.

I think GTG are tracked. I'm not sure about go-ahead goals. The wierdest goal
stat I saw was "Proximizing goals". The idea was it was a goal that put a team
within one goal of the lead. That's almost as useless as first goals.

True. But there must be something out there. Why is it that the NC$$ records
saves as opposed to shots on goal? There must be something that says that you
will record saves.

Sorry, can't help you. I could do the Ottawa Jr. Senators vs Cumberland Grads,
if that means anything to you. :-)

See you later,
John
