I don't think so. I always thought the purpose of the tournament was
to invite the 12 best teams. The purpose is not to invite the teams
that might do well in the future, as part of your posting might suggest.
 
The fact is that even if the ECAC got only 2 teams, Hockey East would
not have gotten four. One of the west teams (Wisconsin in this case),
would have crossed over.
 
DID UNH and UML have a .500 record against Maine/BU? Maine, at least,
got all possible points against the Wildcats and Chiefs. Did
they dominate BU that much?
 
Wait a sec, PC tied Maine. Does this mean, by your logic, that
they should have gotten an NC$$ bid just on that alone?
 
Just curious.
