Last night was the annual Gopher Awards Banquet which was held at the
 Metrodome Hilton in Minneapolis.
 
 The following awards were given:
 
 D.V.G.Nagobads Cup  - Unsung Hero             to  Cory Laylin (senior)
 Mike Crupi Award - Most Determined Player     to Scott Bell (sophomore)
 Frank Popnd Trophy - Rookie of the Year       to Darby Hendrickson (freshman)
 John Mayasich Trophy - Student/Athlete        to Sean Fabian (senior)
 Elwin "Doc" Romnes - Ability & Sportsmanship  to Doug Zmolek (junior)
 John Mariucci Trophy - Most Valuable Player   to Larry Olimb (senior)
 
 The new captains for next season were NOT announced.
