Here's a question for the statistics mavens among us.  Since we went to
the 16 team regional format, has there been a year when no regional #1
seed made the frozen four other than this year?  And when was the last
time this happened from the 12 team format?  As a follow-up, if I
remember the original seeds correctly, this year the regional winners
seeds' total 12 out of a possible 16.  Is that a record?

I suppose I could find some archive to dig this out from, but I also
suspect some of you already know the answers.
