As a clone myself, I would not leave the doughnut for someone else,
because whoever ate the doughnut would be the rude person. By leaving
the doughnut, you added rudeness to the gene pool by nourishing them. Of
course, by not eating the doughnut you weakened your survivability
(which given the stupidity it showed, may be a good thing ;)

By this same argument, if there is only one hockey scholarship and it is
offered to your son or daughter, would you turn it down because someone
else doesn't get that scholarship and you do not want to be rude?

Philosophically then, doughnuts do not equal hockey scholarships. Now I
can get some beer on this Friday afternoon and feel satisfied in killing
these brain cells that have been doing me no good. Part of my cloning is
designed to have the slowest brain cells killed off first -- now if only
my hockey team could have the same luck with the slowest players being
eliminated and replaced by faster ones.
