On the topic of college hockey coverage away from places where it is
played, I can add the following.

Having lived in Washington DC for almost 20 years, it is easy to say
that the amount of college hockey coverage that the local media has had
has been almost nonexistant. However, there has been a recent breath
of fresh air (which will soon end).

Last week, Channel 53 was apparently the only TV station in the entire
country to carry all 8 games. Yesterday (Thurday), the Washington Post
had an article discussing the Phinal Phour. It was about 15
column-inches long. The author, Colleen Dumont, deserves
congratulations. I thought that it was quite well written and
accurate. [By the way, does anyone known what "Special to The
Washington Post" after the writer's name signifies?]

This morning, the Post took the two AP articles about the two games and
took parts of each in a manner that anyone who did not know what was
going on would have become confused. Oh well! Furthermore, there was
a box score of the LSSU-Harvard game, perhaps later editions will also
have the second game (or will eliminate all coverage because some
member of the Redskins stubbed his toe ;-) ).

One more thing, yesterday's Post also had a lengthy article about
former RPI star Joe Juneau.
