Another unbelievable comback at home for the Falcons. Sean Pronger
scored with 12 seconds left in regulation on the power play with the
goalie pulled, to make it 3-3. In overtime, Jason Clark knocked a Miami
defender off the puck along the boards in the Redskin zone, then Jason
Helbing did the same and scooped up the loose biscuit. All of the Miami
players were near the puck on that side of the ice when Helbing found a
streaking defenseman, Kelly Perrault. He skated in all alone on Richard
Shulmistra. After a couple of jukes, he skated around the sprawled
goaltender and filled the empty net.

A tough, tough loss for Miami. It looked like thay had it won when
Trent Eigner put them ahead 3-2 with 5:00 to go in the third. BG had
been playing for the tie and looked terrible over most of the third
period. They couldn't generate much offense even after they fell
behind. But when Enrico Blasi tripped Brian Holzinger, the ref woke up
and called the penalty with about a minute to go.

Kevin Lune had tied it at 2 earlier in the third. Kevin, who sat out at
least 6 games in a row, was a terror on the ice. Kevin was even
double-shifting on the fourth line to replace the injured Jeff Herman.

Miami had gone ahead 2-1 in the second when Dan Daikawa slipped a
wrister from near the blueline past an out-of-position Bob Petrie.
Blasi tied it at 1 with a wrap-around goal in the first. Curtis Fry
got the first goal of the game on the power play when he blasted a
shot thru Shulmistra's legs from the face-off dot.

BG had over 30 shots on net; Miami had less than 20.

The win keeps BG ahead of Miami in the standings, plus it guarantees BG the
tiebreaker vs the Redksins. So, basically, it was a 3-point win.
