Hello CMLD Librarians,
The CMLD Executive Board Nominating Committee is looking for you!  We have 3 board vacancies each with terms starting in May, 2013.  

We are in the process of realigning the board term rotations so these first two positions will start with 2 year terms with eligibility to serve a second 3 year term:
A School Library representative 
A Trustee representative 

We also need a Special Library representative for a first 3 year term with eligibility to serve a second 3 year term.  

The board meets 4 times a year at the Maine State Library and holds a planning retreat each June.  Board members are encouraged to attend both the spring and fall council meetings as well and there is occasional special committee work usually conducted via video or teleconference.   

This is one of the groups to be part of if you want to be more involved in the district and statewide.  At the meetings, you'll hear reports from the State Librarian and the Maine Library Commission, as well as library development, the CMLD consultant and the District Liaison Committee.  You'll find out what's happening regionally, statewide and nationally and be able to give input and feedback that impacts both the district and the state.  We also laugh a lot and the food is generally scrumptious.
