In an attempt to add some fun to Hockey-L's PC debate, I found it semi-
appropriate to include teh text from this Sunday's Shoe, a comic strip
written by Jeff MacNelly.

Shoe (a large Bald Eagle wearing a tweed jacket with leather patches on the
elbows) is typing at his computer keyboard:

(I'll try to include the real sport non-PC nicknames wherever I can remember)

...In last night's basketball action,

it was the Vermont Endangered Species (Catamounts) 109, U Mass Minutepersons
(Minutemen) 84...

The Brown University Rainforest Rangers (Bears) defeated The Diverse Societal
Elements of Yale (Elis or Bulldogs?) 78 to 74,...

and the Threatened Raptors of Boston College (Eagles) beat the Cornell
Empowered Consitiuents (Big Red) 101-88...

Harvard's Determined Caring Persons (Crimson) overcame a late rally by Penn's
Indigenous Creatures (Quakers) to win 88-87,...

and Penn State's Dwindling Predators (Nittany Lions) trounced the NYU Non-
Confrontational Conflict Resolvers (???) 112-82..

After This Shoe sits there and sighs and thinks, "Covering Sports in the
Politically Correct Conference Sure is Different."

Not trying to add fuel to any fire, just though it was amusing!
