A Chris Imes goal at the 8:53 mark in the second period proved
to be the game-winning goal as the Maine Black Bears beat the Miami
of Ohio Redskins 3-1 before a standing room only crowd Saturday
night in the 6th annual Dexter Hockey Classic at Harold Fond Sports
Arena.
After a scoreless first period, Maine's Eric Fenton scored the
game's first goal. It was Fenton's first game since he suffered a
separated shoulder in a Dec. 4 game against Northeastern.
Less than two minutes later, Jason ________? tied the game,
but 52 seconds later Imes scored.
Maine captain Jim Montgomery put the game away with an open
net goal from the blue line in the offensive zone at the 19:33 mark
in the third period.
Maine plays Brown in the championship game Sunday evening at
7 p.m. Brown upset Lake Superior State earlier in the day.
