One of the best has to be Alaska Fairbanks and Alaska Anchorage in hockey. It used to be a four-game series, with the second series coming on the final weekend of the regular season, and a shootout for the championship if the teams tied. They played for the Governor's Cup, and the governor came and personally presented the trophy.
