Listening to the running scores last night, it sounds like Boston U and
Clarkson had a real barn-burner up in Potsdam. According to USCHO, there
were a total of 13 goals scored.

However, it seems that double-digit combined scores (much less the
double-digit one-team score) are rare. Going to USCHO's composite results,
there were only two games with double digit scores, and 57 with 10 or more
goals scored out of 475 games reported. Is this a recent phenomenon? Is
there so much competitive balance that runaways just don't happen much? Is
defense and goaltending so good that scoring is down?
