My son retired this fall after a year and a half as a pro. After two minor
concussions and two knee surgeries, he hung up his helmet for good. His
decision was based more on accomplishing goals and lifestyle preferences. He
was not told he couldn't play.
 
Note:  My son shuns many of my views, won't discuss and won't even look at my
web site. So, no motherly influence. Though, he doesn't mind being the star
in my new hockey comic strip out this winter in two MN papers.  (-:
