I know that Fairfield, Quinnipiac and Sacred Heart were barred from post-
season tournament in their current leagues because all three had offered
athletic scholarships, which is not allowed under Division III rules.
Apparently they were given in anticipation of joining the MAAC. Athletic
scholarships at least give them the ability to better compete with
"established" Division I programs, so there is at least some potential.  Just
who they've recruited, I have no idea.
