I think Kariya has been making great progress, Holzinger has finally
settled with the Sabres after a bumping start, and if you look down the
list of those nominated, many have gone on to have great careers in the
NHL.  Given that this is an award for the best COLLEGE player, these
people arn't being looked at for what makes for a great NHL player.  One
does not follow the other.
 
I'm fuzzy on what the term "impact" player really means anyway.
