Yes, it's true...if the Albany Times Union is to be believed. Their
headline for the story is "RPI Hits Rock Bottom," which goes on to tell
a story about the Dartmouth goalie who had the game of his life (43
saves) "to hand RPI a humiliating 5-2 ECAC defeat." Keep in mind, th
Times Union is biased toward RPI because it is the hometown favorite.
The article also states this is Dartmouth's first home win since
February 17, 1990. The story then continues on to give RPI's excuses
(i.e. "You can only go so long without scoring a goal" from Buddy
Powers, RPI head coach). The article also says that RPI outplayed
Dartmouth in every part of the game--except goaltending.

Here's an abbreviated box score...

RPI 0 0 2 2
Dart. 1 2 2 5

First period:
Dart DelCarmine (Fehm), 13:27

Second period:
Dart Fraser (D'Orio, Guetens), 0:35
Dart Stacchi (Delmonte, D'Orio), 17:31

Third period:
Dart Nieman (Dodman, DelCarmine), 2:53
RPI Majic (Bartell, Robitaille), 8:34
RPI Hamelin (Askew, Layzell), 12:42
Dart Clark (Geary, Nieman), 19:34

Shots on goal:
RPI 20-11-14 45
Dart 6- 8-12 26

Goalies:
RPI Kennedy (25 shots, 21 saves)
Dart Guetens (45 shots, 43 saves)

The Times Union really played this loss up. They seem to feel RPI is
going nowhere (based on the overall tone of the article). RPI will have
to pull off a big win in the next couple of weeks to get back the
respect the Times Union usually has for them.

Maybe Dartmouth will surprise us after all.
