After all the stuff posted in the last 24 hours about
cheering and sportsmanship, I propose the above thread.
If you have any other "7th man" characteristics, please
        post them.

        Karl

ps - yes they all say "man", but only in the anthropological
             sense.

        -----------------------------------------------------------

The 7th man can say what he wants (most of the time).

The 7th man never takes a penalty (unless he throws a fish
        on the ice). ;)

The 7th man is as important to the team as any other player.

The 7th man never gets to kiss the trophy (unless he's the
        UW Pep Band director).

The 7th man never gets to put on the skates and put the
other team through the boards, fire a slapper past the
opposing sieve, or stop a penalty shot.

The 7th man gets to sit and eat and drink and have a good
time, but you can bet he's working hard for his team.

The 7th man think he hates the refs and the other team more
than any other player on his team, and he's probably right.

The 7th man thinks he loves to win more than anyone in the
        building, but he's probably wrong.

It's good to be the 7th man.
