Summary:

Yale came back from a 2-1 third period deficit to take a 5-2 win over
Union at Ingalls Rink. Union outplayed Yale over the first 50
minutes, but only had the one-goal lead to show for it. Yale's Todd
Sullivan stopped 38 of the 40 Union shots he faced.

After a scoreless first in which the Dutchmen outshot the Bulldogs by
a 15-5 margin, the teams traded power play goals in the second. Union
took a 2-1 lead and seemed to be in control of the game at 4:42 of the
third. But midway through the third period, Yale picked up the play
in front of Luigi Villa and Union's Dean Goulet was forced to take a
penalty. It took Yale only 20 seconds to take advantage and tie the
score, and only 15 more seconds to score again to take the lead for
good, 3-2. The Bulldogs added another goal at 16:11 and scored their
fifth into an empty net.

It was the fourth straight game Union had outshot an opponent by a
good margin, and the third straight with at least 40 shots, but they
only have a 1-3 record in those games to show for it. Once again, the
Dutchmen had a tough time scoring on a hot goaltender.

Union falls to 2-6-2 in the ECAC and 5-9-2 overall. They return home
for games against Dartmouth and Vermont this weekend.
