Though the poll looks close in points, Michigan State clinched 10
of 14 1st place votes in this, the second week of the Hockey-L Poll.
Big moves up in the poll were seen by Michigan, and Providence,
while Wisconsin and Maine took nose dives after their weekend losses. A
few people have asked me to include how many votes have come from each
conference, so that others may see if there is any bias. I will do that,
BUT, I would argue that provides no positive proof of East/West. The only
positive way to see East/West bias is to list each voter's entry and
analyze them that way. Just listing how many people from each conference
voted, does not tell you HOW they voted. If people would like, I suppose
I could make a list of East rankings vs West rankings, but I need YOUR
input...
And by the way... The more votes the merrier.. I understand that
some schools might not have played, or have been on break with a
"trimester" system, but I think we can do better than 17 ballots...

Others receiving votes: Northeastern 6, Princeton 6, Clarkson 3, No.
Michigan 3, RPI 1.
ABOUT THE NUMBERS: Not very hard. Voters submitted a list of 12 teams in
order that they felt were the top 12 teams. Each 1st place vote received
12points, 2nd place received 11 points, etc. "Place Votes" describes how
many votes each team got in 1st-5th place. "Avg." is found by subtracting
the quotient of points by (total)votes cast from thirteen (thus allowing
no team to have an average higher than 1).
Any questions or comments about the format are welcomed, including what
you would like to see added or removed. I'll try to adopt to what people
want to see, as long as I can work it out...
