I appreciate Carol's statistical presentation on WCHA rink sizes.

Usually I like to consider myself an optimist--in fact just today
I told my wife as we were discussing the "unseasonal" weather here
in Marquette that I call it "just under balmy" rather than "cold!"
because I prefer to think of the wine bottle as "half full rather
than half empty." However, in this case it's hard to maintain that
attitude. For fans of NMU, MTU, CC, DU, and UND, the fact that the
other four WCHA teams' arenas meet the proposed requirement really
doesn't generate a lot of good feeling, I suspect. (oops--didn't
mean to slight UAA, which is fortunate enough to be one of the "in"
group members)

It's sort of like being told "Well, if it's MY bottle, half full is
like 'fully full'--but if it's yours, half full is empty"! (Carol,
I'm not meaning to imply that you're snickering at us out there--
only to maintain a posture of concern for us small-arena types - :-)
