The banquet was held Saturday evening at the Embassy Suites in Colorado
Springs and attended by some 60 fans, supporters, and players.
The session opened with a moment of silence in honor of Col. John
Clune, former athletic director at the academy, who passed away that
morning.
Offensive player of the year went to Junior Forward Eric Rice.
Defensive player of the year went to Senior Goaltender Mark Liebich.
Most improved player went to Sophmore Defenseman Scot Spann.
On a more personal note to Justin Doherty, Ric Shafer, or anybody else
who had their lives enriched by knowing Col. Clune, I would be pleased to
pass on any of your comments to his widow and children.
