Well, I asked for it. Now what do I do?
I am your new administrator for Hockey-L. It remains to be seen whether
this is a good thing or a bad thing but I am looking forward to the
challenge. One unusual thing is that I am at a Division III school and
have basically no opportunity to attend a Division I game! If its not
on TV, all I know is what I read.
Luckily, I can pick up many of the home games from Madison on delayed
broadcast. Most of what I think I know about the game came from
listening to Paul Braun and Bill Howard, especially Bill.
But maybe thats good. Being in Wisconsin, naturally I root for the
Badgers. However, not being at UW-Madison gives me some emotional
distance from them. I like to think that makes me more objective (but
then again I like to think of myself as intelligent, warm, caring,
all-around-nice-guy,...;-)).
I joined this list a long time ago (as soon as I had e-mail). I
appreciate its tone and demeanor. I have no desire to make any changes
at all. Dean did a wonderful job as administrator and Wayne Smith holds
the whole package together. I like their policies and will continue
them.
Well, enough blather from me. Lets get back to hockey!
Cheers
Tom Rowe - Hockey-L Administrator
