Ahem...Yes, according to the Hockey News, a "combination of his father's eye
surgery and academic struggles prompted Dan LaCouture to leave Boston
University.  No one would be surprised if he started pursuing his pro
career."
 
So--it looks as though Mr. LaCouture's "personal reasons" for leaving school
*did* include his academic problems.
