Houghton, Mich. -- Defenseman Lars Helminen (Brighton,
Mich.), center Jeric Agosta (Leamington, Ont.), and goaltender Kevin
Hachey (Ontario, Calif.) will all attend and play hockey at Michigan
Tech it was announced today by Huskies Head Coach Mike Sertich.
Helminen, at 5-7, 196-pounds, is currently playing for the
Compuware Ambassadors of the North American Hockey League. Through 19
games played, he has two goals and 12 assists, good for 14 total
points. He spent the 2001-02 campaign with the Michigan AAA Ice Dogs.
"Lars is highly-skilled," said Sertich. "He skates well, has
excellent strength, and will add an offensive element to our
defensive corps."
Agosta is in his second season with the Leamington Flyers of
the Western Junior B Hockey League. Through his first 20 games played
this season, the 5-9, 165-pounder is second on his team in points

"Jeric will add speed to our lineup," said Sertich. "He's a
gritty player who sees the ice extremely well."
Hatchey is in his second season with the Trail Smoke Eaters
of the British Columbia Hockey League. He has played 23 games for
Trail to date this season and shows a .901 saves percentage.
"Kevin has an incredible work ethic and is a sound
fundamental goaltender," said Sertich. "I'm particularly impressed
with his ability to handle the puck."
Helminen and Agosta will join the Huskies for the 2003-04
campaign, while Hatchey has deferred his enrollment until the 2004-05
school year.
"Overall, I'm really excited about the three," said Sertich.
"They're all good, solid citizens and they'll increase our skill
level at their respective position."
