not sure if this is relevant or even true anymore, I think it is, but I know
U of Nebraska-Lincoln (the Huskers) used to(still does?) have the claim to
fame of their athletic department being totally self-supporting. They
didn't(don't?) use 1 government dollar on athletics, they get it all from
football, men's basketball, conference sharing, tv, donors, etc...all of the
state's money goes to academics.
