Maybe it wasn't a "deciding factor," but this kid's got to learn to
understand that how things look in the news <smirk>

3 Kariya siblings before him all travel more than 2,500 miles to go to a
(relatively) small college in Bangor.

Given Maine's history, current record, and coaching reputation (no,
seriously), it's no surprise then to see one of the most heavily recruited
players choosing to play for the Black Bears.

But given his two brothers' success there before him -- as well as his
sister's residency -- that's quite a stretch to say that the family line
was not a deciding factor.

Any more Karyia siblings out there? Maybe one that Maine can get on a chess
scholarship?

(it's a joke, people... relax)
