CCHA PLAYER OF THE WEEK:  Craig Lisko, a sophomore goaltender from Ferris
State University, has been selected CCHA Player of the Week for the week
ending January 26, 1992.
 
Lisko, a 5-10, 160-pound native of Stoney Creek, Ontario, appeared in three
games during the week for the Bulldogs and earned a win and a tie.  In
Tuesday's contest, Lisko played the final 40 minutes allowing two goals on 21
shots by Michigan State.  He made 27 saves in Friday's 4-1 win at Miami and in
Saturday's 4-4 overtime tie, Lisko stopped 34 of 38 shots.  Four of the five
goals he allowed vs. the Redskins came on Miami power plays.
 
For the week, Lisko had a 2.55 goals against average and a .920 save
percentage.  An over-age free agent, Lisko has a 3.21 gaa for the season with
an .899 save percentage.

season.  MICH - Red Berenson, in his eighth season, has compiled a 159-137-18
overall record.  Series:  The Lakers have a 31-10-5 advantage including a
10-1-2 mark in the last 13 meetings.  Last Meeting:  Dec. 6-7, 1991 at LSSU,
the Lakers won 3-2 (OT) on Friday and 10-0 on Saturday.  Last Meeting at MICH:

MSU - Ron Mason, in his 26th season, has compiled a 640-273-40 mark.  In 13
years at MSU, Mason has a 351-163-26 record.  UIC - Larry Pedrie has compiled
a 20-35-5 overall record in his second year as the Flames' mentor.  Series:
The Spartans hold a 30-6-0 lead, including wins in seven of the last eight
meetings.  Last Meeting:  Feb. 22-23, 1991 at MSU, UIC won 5-4 on Friday,
while Michigan State won 8-3 on Saturday.  Last Meeting at UIC:  Oct. 12-13,
1990, MSU won 8-3 on Friday and 9-1 on Saturday.
 
Western Michigan at Miami, Jan. 31-Feb. 1 at Miami's Goggin Arena (2,200).
Coaches:  WMU - Bill Wilkinson has a 10-year overall mark of 194-178-22.
Miami - George Gwozdecky has a six-year overall mark of 95-93-12, with a
three-year mark at Miami of 28-73-10.  Series:  The Broncos have a 34-16-1
lead.  Western Michigan is 7-5-0 in the last 12 meetings.  Last Meeting:  Feb.
1-2, 1991 at WMU, the Broncos won 8-3 on Friday behind Keith Jones' hat trick
and 7-2 on Saturday.  Last Meeting at Miami:  Nov. 30-Dec. 1, 1990, WMU won
5-3 on Friday and 5-0 on Saturday with Craig Brown recording the shutout.
 
Bowling Green vs. Ohio State, Jan. 31 at the BGSU Ice Arena (5,000) and Feb. 1
at the OSU Ice Rink (1,410).  Coaches:  BGSU - Jerry York has compiled a
20-year overall mark of 426-290-29 with a 13-year record of 301-203-26 at
Bowling Green.  OSU - Jerry Welsh has recorded a 305-300-45 mark in 17 years
with the Buckeyes.  Series:  Bowling Green leads 69-32-2 in a series that
began in 1969.  Last Meeting:  Oct. 26, 1991 at BGSU, the Falcons won 6-5 (OT)
as Martin Jiranek completed his hat trick in overtime.  Last Meeting at OSU:
Oct. 25, 1990, the Buckeyes won 5-3.
 
Ferris State vs. Notre Dame, Jan. 31 at FSU's Ewigleben Arena (2,573) and Feb.
1 at UND's Joyce Athletic Center (4,000).  Coaches:  FSU - Bob Mancini, in his
second year, has compiled a 28-26-11 record.  UND - Ric Schafer has a 12-year
coaching mark of 184-167-10.  In five years at UND his record is  79-70-7.
Series:  The Bulldogs lead 9-2-1 including seven straight wins.  Last Meeting:

Broncos to appear on NCAA Today show:  Western Michigan's hockey squad will be
featured on an upcoming edition of the NCAA Today show.  The show will air on
ESPN on Tuesday, February 4th at 5:30 Eastern.
 
Ferris State all tied up:  For the third time in the last four years, Ferris
State has recorded six ties, tying the national record held by many schools.
 
MSU double digit point streaks:  The Spartans senior tandem of Dwayne Norris
and Peter White have 13-game and 11-game point streaks entering this weekend's
series at UIC.  Norris has 19 goals and 15 assists for 34 points along with a
10-game goal scoring streak.  During White's 11-game streak, he has nine goals
and 19 assists for 28 points.
 
Michigan's Wiseman suffering no sophomore jinx:  1990-91 CCHA Rookie of the
Year Brian Wiseman has recorded a point in 20 of his last 21 games, scoring 14
goals and adding 29 assists for 43 points during the streak.  He had an assist
in seven straight games until Saturday, but he tallied a hat trick in the 9-3
win over Ohio State.
