Greg Brown has been in the Buffalo Sabres organization for a few years now and
has yet to really crack their lineup (thus, he's been playing in Rochester -
Buffalo's AHL affiliate).  He's a decent defenseman with some offensive skills.
The Sabres loaned him to the Olympic team shortly after Keith Carney, signed
as a free agent by the Sabres a month or so ago, was cut by the team - though
I don't know if the two events were necessarily related.
