This is a hard pick. I can't decide which one I like.

Though it sounds a little like Buckeyes, Buckskins is okay.
Red Hawks or Mighty or Big Red is neutral enough to win out.
"The Miami" seems to be a direct reference to the Miami Tribe. It
pays homage to the Miamis without the negative aspect of the
name "Redskins". This could be the best compromise.

I'm not so fond of inanimate names like pride, thunder, legends, or red
and white. The nickname should perhaps be able to be represented by some
type of emblem. You would expect a logo of some kind to go on teams jerseys
and what not. What kind of logo would you have with those? (Clothing stores
and apparel makers would have a fit.) It doesn't seem that this was part of
the thought process. However, I don't know - I did not participate in the
selection.

My favorite previous suggestion was the Tribe, but then again, some would
argue that that puts Miami back in the same place it started. And again,
what emblem? Leave it the same? Wouldn't go over well, I don't think.

To me they'll always be the Redskins.
