Despite my unabashed liberalism, I'd have to concur with Greg. The crowd's
enthusiasm is what gives any team a home-ice (court/field) advantage. If
parents teach their kids well enough, such language won't enter a
kid's mind. Perhaps, it is easier to blame someone else than it is to look
in the mirror.

On a different note, I'd be interested in polling members of Div. I schools
(primarily in the midwest) on how they feel their hockey program is treated
by the athletic dept. in respect to their other Div. I programs. I know
that small schools like LSSU and NMU have only one div. I sport and
therefore is (I assume) treated very well by the ath. dept. Who I'm
really interested in is the Minnesotas, Michigan States and Ohio States
out there where hockey is not the #1 sport (or at least not the only
Div. I sport). I'd especially be interested in any responses out there from
UMichigan where their football and basketball programs are as good as
their hockey.
PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS PRIVATELY AT

PS-I'd like to point out that both Clarkson and St Lawrence have
similar records vs. Division I teams but CU is 1-0
vs non-Div. I teams while SLU is 0-1-1.
