The consensus of the group I was with (all University of Michigan and Michigan
Tech fans) was that Alban deserved the tournament MVP award. The refs may
have had a part in MSU winning their first round game, but that was only
after Alban made some absolutely incredible saves that kept Tech from winning
in OT. And his performance in the championship game was again breathtaking.

When it was announced that he was all-tournament goaltender, one of my
friends summed it up: "It's depressing as a Michigan fan that he's only
a sophomore." Something tells me that MSU is going to win a GLI championship
before he graduates, and he'll have a big part in that victory.
