> I'm sort of interested in seeing a whole arena do this SIEVE thing.....
I went to a Badger game earlier this year while in Wisconsin...
saw them tie UMD 2-2. I had heard about the "SIEVE" cheer and
everything, but I didn't realize it was *that* organized. You
won't believe it when you see it...it's really nuts. Even the
scoreboard helps out...flashing the word "Sieve!" as the crowd
chants it...it also leads the "Let's Go Red!" cheer.
There are others...a cry of "big deal" as an opposing team's
goal is announced...a yell of "That's debatable" when it is
announced the other team is back at full strength...and constant
cries to the linesman (which gets annoying) to "drop the puck!".
Badger fans are a pretty amusing bunch...you have to experience
this to believe it.
We stole some of that when we went back to Bloomington and tried
to liven up the crowd at Indiana games. The notoriously demure
Hoosier fans don't join in, though...they just look at us like we're
a bunch of drunk idiots.
One other non-hockey related question...can any of you in Minneapolis
help us out...I'm going to be in town next weekend and am looking
for an inexpensive hotel near an interstate or close to the Target
Center (but I'm assuming the latter are all booked)...or any other
travel tips in Minneapolis. Reply privately...TNX!...ace!
