I'm going to throw my hat in the ring and go for:
Toots
He has done an amazing job with a team picked to finish in the bottom
third of the ECAC. He has managed to take his team and place 4 consistent
lines into the mix every weekend. He has also developed his freshmen and
defense into something that teams are afraid of.
Throw in the big win over Maine, and a record of 4-4-0 over the Top 4,
and 5-2-2 against the second 4 for a record of 9-6-2 against the Top 8.
Good job by Don Cahoon, and if I was voting, he would be my choic.
Not to say that Gaudet and Vaughn have not done good things. Gaudet has
managed to take his team and put them near the top, but to argue the point,
a lot of people thought Parsons could not handle the load that Finch took,
and that Geoff would not be replaceable. Parsons was up to the task. Other
wise it is a team which has not changed much. I think the loss of Finch
was one of the main (if not the main) reason why Brown was picked to
finish in 6th.
Vaughn meanwhile has done alot with his freshmen. Brenzavich, Loftsgaard,
and Baaki come to mind. Brenzavich, when given the starting nod, did the
job. but it was the others on the team that created the winning atmosphere
for the Red Raiders. While Vaughn is accomplished, he had more to work with
than Cahoon.
