I was fortunate enough to have worked under Mazz as a student manager for
the 1990-91 hockey season....I know first hand what an intense and firey
coach Mazz can be....He will bring results....Our hockey team the season
before he got here, went 4-18.....In his first season under Mazz, we went
12-12....A drastic change for all of the Pointer faithful....In his
second season (1986-87) we improved to 17-12....In 1987-88, we went
20-10-2 and lost in the NCAA III playoffs to UW-River Falls, the
beginning of the end for the rest of Div. III.....In his next season, he
led the Pointers to a 34-5-2 record and their first of three straight
National titles.....
I just thought that I would add some stats to Mazz's already impressive
portfolio....I liked him very much as a coach, and as a person as
well....Look forward to an exciting season of hockey Miami fans, he won't
disappoint you.....
