I was surprised at the defensive pair named to the HE All-Rookie Team. Named
were John Jakopin of Merrimack and Tim Murray of UNH. I only saw two of UNH's
games with UMass-Lowell this year (both wins, we lost the other three when I
wasn't there. Hmmmm....), but Murray didn't really stand out, although I'll
plead guilty to watching forwards more than defensemen (I'll also plead guilty
to watching the cheerleaders even more than the forwards, but that's another
story...). So perhaps Murray *is* that good. You'd have to be blind not to
notice 6' 5" Jakopin and it's hard not to be impressed with his size and
potential, but IMO the two blueliners I would have picked would have been
Chris O'Sullivan of BU and Ed Campbell of UML. Both of these guys are well
advanced offensively and do an excellent job in their own end too.

This is NOT meant as a slight on Jakopin or Murray, just another viewpoint.
