Looking at the playoff section of next year's Clarkson hockey
schedule:

> 12-14 ECAC Quarterfinals (first team to three points)
> (Fri.-Sun.) at home arena of top four teams

I got my hopes up that the ECAC had scrapped the [ptu!] Final Five and
gone to an eight-team playoff format, but looking further those hopes
dissipated:

> 18-20 38th Annual ECAC Championship Tournament
> (Thr.-Sat.) at Olympic Arena, Lake Placid, New York

Thursday-Saturday implies the same format as before. I suppose the
real lesson is that it's too early to try to infer too much from this
schedule (which also has some confusion over the dates of the first
weekend in January). The other ECAC schedule I've seen, Union's, does
not include the playoffs. Draw your own inferences. ;-)
