BAUER/CCHA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jason Clark, a junior left wing from
Bowling Green State University, has been selected Bauer/CCHA Offensive Player
of the Week for his performance the weekend of January 13-14, 1995. He played
junior hockey for the St. Thomas (Ontario) Stars.
Clark, a 6-0, 190-pound native of Belmont, Ontario, had seven points (two
goals, five assists) as Bowling Green defeated Ohio State and tied Miami. The
1992 Vancouver Canuck draft choice had a hand in all four Bowling Green goals
against Miami (two goals, two assists). For the weekend his plus/minus was +6.
COOPER/CCHA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Marty Turco, a freshman goaltender
from the University of Michigan, has been selected Cooper/CCHA Defensive Player
of the Week for the weekend of January 13-14, 1995. He played junior hockey
for the Cambridge (Ontario) Winterhawks and was selected by the Dallas Stars in
the 1994 National Hockey League entry draft.
Turco, a 5-11, 160-pound native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, stopped 76 of 80
shots (.95 saves percentage) as Michigan swept Lake Superior in Sault Ste.
Marie. In Friday's 5-1 victory, Turco stopped 34 of 35 shots (.971 saves
percentage) and Saturday, he set a career high with 42 saves in Michigan's 4-3
overtime victory.
