Somebody could probably give you the dates, but as I understand
it, Kariya will miss 6 games during the season to play with the
Canadian National (Junior?) team. That's usually during the
December-January tournament season, but I don't know for sure.
(The 3-3 is correct; he was also named the tournament MVP.)
So I guess that makes it 94 points in 32 games or...let's see
... about 113 in 39 games (if Mike's computations are correct).
I'm still not comfortable with Kariya being a candidate (consider
the non-scoring criteria for the award) but Mike was certainly
right when he said it makes for great discussion.
