I don't think this is the case, but let's determine for sure. I believe
it was Pam in Minneapolis who told us last year (maybe it was Carol?)
that a LOCAL TV station in the Twin Cities inquired about telecasting
the West Regional and was told that the *Arena* wanted a too-high fee
(but how high is "too high"?) for the privilege. So--IS it Joe Louis
who controls that kind of thing, or is the NC$$ and/or ESPN, as
suggested above?
BTW, if the same thing occurs again and it really is a matter of the
fee, I'd bet that the Twin Cities, Marquette, and other places could get
enough people to pony up for a kind of informal "Pay TV" feed into local
places to make it worth the local stations' while to pay the going rate.
