I could go into a rant about how Eric misspelled, and by extension
mispronounced Worcester, but I won't.

Hi All and Eric,

I meant a lot of this tongue in cheekl. I can understand the EZAC
thing, however I recall that my only frozen four (Anaheim in '99) was
void of a WCHA team, there were three from HEA. I dont think anyone put
a Z in the WCHA at that point.

We all know the ECAC had good success at the national level in the 80s
and somewhat into the 90s and then, thru a lot of its own stupidity, has
declined over the last decade or so, wiht a few good teams at any one
time, but not top to bottom strength like the WCHA and HEA has now.

However, things are cyclical in college sports (although some leagues
seem to cycle faster than others :-), and this year the future looks a
bit brighter and stronger, IMO, for the ECACHL as they got 3 bids, more
than any other league except the WCHA and HEA. I think their separation
from the ECAC also bodes well, in terms of attracting better players.

It is diffcult for the mainly small schools (some with very specific
majors like RPI) to attract some of the better players, but with
scholarships and the Ivies reputation, I think the league will continue
to improve, at least I hope so. Certainly the disparities between
levels of the different leagues in hockey is nowhere near what it is in
basketball, football and baseball for example, and I think that is great
for the sport.

Hope you all have a great time with the WCHA, scuse me - - FrozenFour,
finals in Columbus.

Cheers,

Tony Buffa
