The Golden Gophers completed their first sweep of the season, tipping
the Wisconsin Badgers by the same 3-2 score as on Friday night. This
time, the lead changed hands twice. The Gophers opened the scoring in
teh first period with Johnny Pohl's first goal as a Gopher. The Badgers
countered with two goals in the second period, the first by Craig
Anderson on a power play, the second even strength by Matt Doman. Two
power play by the Gophers (Dave Spehar, Erik Westrum) regained the lead
for good. There were no goals in the third period, though the Badgers
rallied strongly in the final minutes of the game. Adam Hauser picked
up the win in net; loading goalie was Graham Melanson.

The Gophers return home for a series against Colorado College next week,
while the Badgers travel to Duluth.

Some information for this report is drawn from the excellent online game
summary found at:

http://www.wisc.edu/ath/live/hk/stat_pol/curgame/-live.htm

This report is apparently updated continuously while the game is in
progress. A fine effort.
