I write, golf, bat, fish, and shoot a gun right-handed but play hockey
left-handed.
I figure I'm left-handed because that is the way my older brother's sticks were
curved when I first picked one up an shot pucks at the garage in the back
yard.
I'd buy my 3-year old a floor hockey stick (you can bend the blade in your
hands - but keep it straight at first) and let him shoot a puck around the
basement for a while and see which way he prefers. You don't want to buy a
$20+ hockey stick, chop it down to crumbcrusher size and find out your kid
shoots the other way. Makes for a good tomato plant stake though.
