I agree. I think that's the whole idea behind a scholarship. The recruiters
get the athletes to attend their school just to play the sport. Yes, a
degree is nice, too, but look at how many SAs have jumped to the pros
this year, already. Knuble, Holzinger, Quenniville (sp?), and Tuomainen
are ones that immediately come to mind. This is not to say that they
won't return to finish their degree. Many athletes have done that.
 
I don't see why any student (athlete or not) would pay the school back
simply because they didn't graduate. It's a big commitment on the
school's part to "give" the money to the student. If the student
doesn't graduate, then I guess it's tough luck for the school, while
the student walks away without losing much at all.
