This is the way I remember it happening from the discussions here-- that
the initiative for the change came from within the school, not without.

I'll admit-- I like the name River Hawks, and I know a few other Lowell
fans who do as well.
 
But those mascots... hmmm... I don't know. If they could at least skate...
