It is my understanding from folks close to the situation that Jackson was NOT
offered the job.  Unfortunately, I don't feel at liberty to say anything more
than that.
 
As for Mallen being the first pick....I doubt the UMass AD Marcum would deny
that Shawn Walsh was at the top of the list.
 
P.S. In my never ending search for hockey information (I even went to Atlanta
to see Manon Rheaume's first start....just kidding....I was already there so
it was a simple side trip) I was in the Capital District over the weekend and
read in the local paper that the ECAC will announce its' '94 tournament site
on April 30.
